Data Deletion Policy
GDPR Data Deletion Policy
Introduction
At The Inclusive Romance Project, we value the privacy and data protection rights of our clients, employees, and partners. In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are committed to ensuring that personal data is handled securely and transparently. This policy outlines the process by which individuals can request the deletion of their personal data from our systems.
Data Deletion Rights
Under the GDPR, individuals have the right to request the erasure of their personal data from our systems, known as the "right to be forgotten." This right can be exercised in the following circumstances:
The personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
The individual withdraws their consent to the processing of their data.
The individual objects to the processing of their data, and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for the processing.
The personal data has been unlawfully processed.
The personal data must be erased to comply with a legal obligation.
Data Deletion Request Process
Submission of Request: Individuals wishing to request the deletion of their data should complete the Data Deletion Request Form provided by The Inclusive Romance Project.
Verification of Identity: To protect the security of the data, we may require verification of the individual's identity before processing the request. This may include providing additional information or documentation.
Processing the Request: Upon receiving a verified data deletion request, IRP will evaluate the request to ensure it meets the criteria under GDPR. We will then take steps to delete the data from our systems, including notifying any third parties with whom the data has been shared.
Confirmation of Deletion: Once the data has been deleted, IRP will provide confirmation to the individual that their request has been fulfilled. This confirmation will include details of the actions taken.
Exceptions There are certain circumstances where we may be unable to comply with a data deletion request, including but not limited to:
Compliance with legal obligations.
The establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
Public interest or public health reasons.
In such cases, we will inform the individual of the reason(s) why their request cannot be fulfilled.
